Category definitions have been provided to help you select the right place for your product to be entered. Please note that categories have been grouped by relevance and not A-Z, your category may appear further down the page.

Entry Deadline Friday 22 May
All food products that are specifically designed and marketed as Free From, for an alternative diet, or are healthier options to mainstream products should be entered into the Good Choice awards here .
Entry fee per product : €335 + VAT.

Ambient Breakfast Products
Items typically specifically for breakfast consumption including cereals, porridge, breakfast bars and biscuits etc.
Chocolate and Confectionery
Any chocolate product or sweet including chocolate bars and boxes, fudge and packaged sweets
Hot beverages including coffee, teas and all other hot beverages.
N.B. The Kitchen Team will have a coffee grinder, cafetiere, nespresso machine and frother available

Food To Go
Pre-prepared, ready to eat food and snacks inclusive of sandwiches, salads, wraps and sushi etc
Any prepared or unprepared accompaniments to a meal e.g. stuffing, red cabbage, gratins, chips, frozen vegetables whether ambient, chilled or frozen
Inclusive of chilled and frozen products
Inclusive of ambient and chilled soups
Pasta, Rice & Grains
Pasta can be fresh or dried, with or without filling. Rice and grains can be any variety or flavouring. Inclusive of pasta, couscous, rice quinoa etc
Quiches, Pies and Pasties
Inclusive of ambient, chilled or frozen quiches, pies, pasties, sausage rolls etc
Store Cupboard Items
Items typically found in store cupboard used to create, enhance or accompany a dish including home baking, herbs and spices and canned goods
Oils, Vinegars and Dressings
Inclusive of all oils, vinegars and dressing used to garnish or prepare a product
Relishes and Chutneys
Inclusive of all relishes, chutneys, pickles and savoury jams and marmalades eg chilli jam
Products used straight from the bottle as a pouring condiment or dipping sauce
Cooking sauces and marinades applied to food prior to cooking and serving
Inclusive of jams, sweet spreads, honey, peanut butter etc
Products produced specifically with an occasion in mind e.g. Easter, Valentines Day and Halloween. This category does not include Christmas products, which can be should be entered in the Christmas category.
Food that is specially designed and marketed for children over the age of 2 years can be ambient, chilled or frozen. Entries may include- ready meals, snacks, yoghurts, drinks etc
