Rising Star Award

We are on the search for the next Rising Star in Ireland's food and drink industry. This award recognises individuals aged under 25 who have a passion for quality food and drink and are using their entrepreneurial spirit to advance within the industry.

So if you know a young person who is working as a chef or in the retail grocery sector, be it in a small convenience store or a large supermarket, or studying food technology, we want to recognise those bright sparks who show the passion and drive to succeed in this dynamic world.

Encourage and appreciate the younger members of your team by nominating them for this prestigious award. If you’re teaching a related course and a student really stands out for their ideas and enthusiasm, make sure you mark them out as the industry leaders of tomorrow by nominating them today.

This year's winner will be announced at the Irish Quality Food and Drink Awards ceremony, taking place on Thursday 29 October. 

Cotter Brothers - 2019 Winner 

Jack and Nick Cotter form Cotter Organic Lamb where awarded the 2019 Rising Star Award. The brothers have been entrepreneurs from a young age, setting up their first business Cotter Bros Firewood aged 13 and 11. Since then they have turned their attention to their organic sheep farm they grew up on.
