Each category has been specifically tailored to represent the key drivers in today’s ever-changing marketplace. Category definitions have been provided to help you select the right category for your product to be entered. This year we have made the entry process clearer and simpler for you, by combining products into headline categories and including the Foodservice awards in the main entry process. Products will be sorted and judged in their appropriate subcategory and awarded in the same way as previous years.

Inclusive of juices, smoothies, cold pressed, carbonates, waters and cordials; fizzy, still, flavoured etc

Any type of Dairy and Egg products including butters and spreads, yoghurts, eggs, milk and cream
(IQFA) Delicatessen Goods
Products that are sold on the deli shelves or at the deli counter
(IQFA) Desserts and Puddings
Any sweet pudding or dessert ambient, chilled or frozen
Fish products that are either fresh, frozen, prepared (eg breaded) or smoked.

Pre-prepared, ready to eat food and snacks inclusive of sushi
(IQFA) Fresh Produce
Inclusive of prepared or unprepared fruit, salad and vegetables e.g. pre-cut fruit pots, whole fruits, stir fry kits, vegetable roasting trays, whole vegetables, salad bags, coleslaw, potato salad etc
(IQFA) Hot Beverages
This category includes coffee (instant or pods), tea (black, white, herbal, fruit and infusions). They can be of any variety and country of origin. Alternative hot drinks also include e.g. hot chocolate, malted milks.
N.B. The Kitchen Team will have a coffee grinder, cafetiere, nespresso machine and frother available
(IQFA) Jams, Sweet Spreads and Sauces
Sweet products e.g jams, honey, marmalade, maple syrup, lemon curd, dessert sauce
(IQFA) Meal Accompaniments
Any prepared or unprepared accompaniments to a meal e.g. stuffing, red cabbage, gratins, chips, frozen vegetables whether ambient, chilled or frozen
Includes both chilled and frozen, and roast-in-the-bag. Products can include sauces, garnish, crumb, and can be plain or stuffed.
(IQFA) Pasta, Rice & Grains
Pasta can be fresh or dried, with or without filling. Rice and grains e.g. couscous and pearl barley, can be of any variety or flavouring.
Chilled or frozen pizzas, ready to cook or prepare
(IQFA) Quiches, Pies and Pasties
Inclusive of ambient, chilled or frozen; also includes sausage rolls
(IQFA) Ready Meals
Pre-prepared, ready to cook and eat as a whole meal

Products produced specifically with an occasion in mind e.g. Easter, Valentines Day and Halloween. This category does not include Christmas products, which can be should be entered in the Christmas category.
